Ive read most of this work and to be honest this one is the best . this even though was the best , some of the sentences never mad sense at all , and I felt stupid reading it , like I just couldn't read it . so this one gets a 2 out of 5 as well , I will probably not read any more of his works . but maybe others may like it . I know people do not have the same taste , so go for it I say .

yes emmm , this book ended up just like the others I read , I feel like it could of had more and the potential was lacking and just fell flat on its face .. basically wasting paper as well with a few words on each page again , not poetry ,. I feel like people think its poetry but its not at all poetry , and more than that its just thinking out loud again for me .
not a good read again . 2/5 Ok so many people say the same thing , but I definitely would not call this poetry , maybe words you need to say out loud but not poetry ... like I know poetry takes years sometimes to master , and this book is just a few words on a page that don't even really make much sense , and some of them are about being abused and unloved .. here's a sample
a father’s rejection damages the soul of young girls all the way into the pits of adulthood so these don't even rhythm I just think they sound like thoughts and words that maybe they were told when they were young . I give this a 2 as well 2/5 Being that this was the first time I've read a Rom Com , I found it a very good read . Not just was it very funny in places it was exciting and never boring and sometimes fast paced . I can definitely say that even the Romance was good and not overwhelming like some reads I had . I definitely recommend to you all . The story is drawn around Cassie , and Frederick room to rent , art job , kidnapping and romance and a little sexual at the end . Sexy, funny, sweet and absurdly cute and I loved it that he tried to be up with the times too ,.. and his home decor , was abit funny as well, his family and others were not nice . but i dont want to say more as i will spoil it for you . 4*/5* This book was another quick read and if you haven't read the dark materials , you definitely need to read that first as this book is a continue of that . It just over a few days that Lyra is just going on her everyday business . And spending time with her Daemon Pan . I do love this collection of works and recommend to any one who has read the dark materials to read this to .
Lyra returns to the town of Trollesund where she first met Lorek Byrneson ,Lee Scoresby in Northern Lights . She and Pan are exploring there forever changing relationship , she also wants someone to talk to about a secret , after being reunited where she seeks advice from the consul of the witches about their separation . This book also touches on the struggles of a young woman getting to know herself and her daemon . Reading Goth girl and the mouse was a surprisingly cute little read of 218 pages long
I took 2 days to read it as I had other responsibilities , But I loved Ada's character the most it was a little upsetting to see her relationship with her father not a good one . The game keeper was not a nice guy and I knew he was up to no good . All the other characters were well thought out and I loved all the illustrations too . The whole story was a quick read , not boring at all , I would definitely recommend this to anyone , and its nice to use books like this to separate the more serious reads . 4*/5* fun and easy to read “It was as if he had put on the quality of maleness, like a flamboyant cloak. He was a tawny lion poised for the kill – and was she the prey? She remembered the lover made up out of books and poems she had dreamed of all summer; he crumpled like the paper he was made of before this insolent offhand terrifying maleness, filling the room with its reek. She hated it but could not take her eyes off him.”
First of all , I was a bit disappointed with the overall story , I found it hash and cruel I really had to push myself to actually finish the book and reading words like bitch and swine really made the whole book feel disgusting . Melanie was a young 15 year old girl , living in a fantasy world , creeping out the front door at night to explore the back garden in the dark wearing her mothers old wedding dress she found in the attic . Dreams of love and being someone she's not , dressed in a wedding dress waiting for her love to return to her . she had never dated anyone in her life . but she wished it so hard , so imagined it instead for a while it was bliss in her dreams and her imagination , until the next day she is shipped off to London on the train with her brother and sister in toe behind her . Taken from all she has ever known . A new life awaits her , but not a good one as of yet . Melanie's parents died in an accident and the house was put up for sale , so she had been sent to live with her uncle Philip who was fat and greedy and disrespectful to his nieces and nephew . But long story short her life with money and hot baths every day and good food , came to an end and she ends up being dirty and used the only kind person that helped look after the children was Maggie his wife . she also had 2 brothers who lived there as well , they did not have much hot water and heating , and to make things worse they had to work to help pay there keep . In the magic toyshop , which has no magic , it just sold wooden toys and all handmade by uncle Philip and Finn and now Melanie , Johnathan and Victoria , although Victoria is too young at this time . To really know what is going on , and it is a relief for Melanie to not have that responsibility of looking after the young ones . 3*/5* I dont think I will ever read it again . ok , so smuty is an understatement , although I still enjoyed the book , it was highly sexual and this did take away from the plot of the story .. as not really a lot happens during the whole book . a lot of sex I might add , but stuff that seemed important got overlooked because of all the sex and stuff . But like I said I was interested in the story line , and wish they had concentrated on that a bit more .
Basically a woman who we still don't know much about has a few lovers that are monsters , and that they have vowed to protect her as she was growing up , and a witch or witches are killing innocent monsters for their souls and magic , and a friend of the main character a brownie goes missing , so they are all gunning for the local witch who does business with a club and there is where a lot of killing happens I only give this book a 3/5* because the main story has been washed away by sex . A story of loneliness and love , betrayal and death . I loved this story and I was so shocked of what happened that a nearly didn't want to finish the book , it was fast paced and kept me hooked , I felt so bad for her , after she fell for his nice words and gifts ,. yet she knew it was not real but after it was to late , I recommend anyone to read this it took me an hour to read if that . A girl looks and tends to her field of special flowers , even thought she gets lonely and misses the company of people , she will not give up on her responsibility of caring and working in the fields of silver flowers . until one night a man knocks her door and all she knows is at risk . As I only read 20 ish books last year , I'm definitely trying to read more this year . so follow along on good reads . link below . But I'm not forcing myself too .. I'm just going read what I want with out pressure . And you should do the same .
Okay , so it took me a while to read this book even though its only 144 pages long , I think I found it slightly boring , but it was on a interesting subject , but it was slow . so you are following Mumei, a sickly child, and his great-grandfather Yoshiro , as they cope in a life that seems to go on forever , Yoshiro is now over 100 years old and he still goes running in the park with a rent a dog ... , the children nowadays are born poorly and weak , and always needing that little extra care . They don't have Electricity or mobile phones . food is scarce . and sometimes living is just not fair . But not only are the old age destines to live forever , but they are destined to watch their great grand kids die . The whole of Japan is separated from the rest of the world . as Japan closed its borders because of their problem . After a terrible cataclysm Japan is pushed back on itself and there is also references to Shinto, Buddhism and Japanese myths and folktales . Also language is closed off from the outside world and changes in isolation, with foreign words disappearing and kanji changing meaning . Mumei is very lonely and it is hard for him to use his legs . He ends up in a wheel chair later . Its a lonely and depressing story , slow in places and sometimes boring at times . but the story topic is of interest and I pushed on through . but glad I had finished . I give it 3*/5* Hi everyone , this is book 3 of his works , we are following Fiadh and Annis , Who have now started on this journey together . she excepts a job to find Eadan's brother, Ronan who had stole something from someone who stole it from the sea .
Similar to the 2nd book , they are hired to do a job and usually only a crow can do it right . But why would they need a crow to find a brother lost at sea . This powerful Relic can control the sea , and in the wrong hands would be no good , but things get tricky when Fiadh matches her wits and skills with an ancient creature , a "love" that wasn't really love it was stolen , and a very angry selkie ,but Fiadh is no match for her foe , but that's one of the reasons she brought Annis along . I enjoyed this short book , and just like the other books I really like Fadhs character she goes through alot for others , even nearly killing herself to get the job done . I will continue to read the rest of his books as now I would like to know what happens at the very end . I will give it 4*/5* as its very good , but the stories are not over yet . Ten years ago, four students died in the North Tower at Carvell College of Arts , the college was then forced to close its doors until just recently . Students are excepted back into the college , Alice finds a book on girls anger etc , and then 5 or so girls start feeling angry ,and some cant control their feelings and start hitting others and bad things start to happen . And not long after this, they find out why , they spend most of the story trying to keep their anger under wraps and together they find the answers that will hopefully turn back time to when they all first arrived at the college .. The paranormal happenings , anger , that happened to Lottie and Alice who are room mates at this college , and some certain deaths , trigger the girls to undertake the ritual many times until they can find a cure . They become friends after a few battles of their own . And start looking into the book and the author , and slowly they become closer to the end , the finale of their story . The society has just become on the defensive . And to win over the darkness that has been a pain in their lives for so long now . Lottie also finds out what killed her friend those ten years ago . and Alice and Lottie get their revenge .
I was so into this book , I don't really like murders and stuff but this had a paranormal edge to it . And I couldn't put the book down . 5* definetly I just finished book 2 of the series Tales of Seann Àite I loved the read , it was fast paced and exciting as always with this author , its got to be one of my favorite male authors by far . It tells a story of a crow called Fiadh , not the bird , but a being who fights the evil and cures curses and other not normal stuff that has evil intents to it . She returns to the island that took her in after her families death years ago , and supported her till she was ready to support her self , there she finds the lord of the place ill with mares and evil lingers over him in the shadows ,as if he has been taken over by some evil being . Here she has to fight the evil and try to bring Eònan back to health like he had been once before a great leader ,so basically you follow her and annis , Brenan and others on the island trying to fight the evil that has branded the island to darkness , be careful what you whisper , of the names you hear . It could cost you dearly . More than you know . Here is a sample of the book below . Fiadh nodded. She didn’t need to know his exact reasons behind having her back right now, only that she had bought herself some brief reprieve, one that Brianan had not offered. She turned and entered the room, Annis followed and closed the door behind them. Fiadh slumped roughly onto the cot that made up much of the sparse adornment of the chamber, dumping her sack, adjusting the scabbard swung over her back, and pinching her nose hard in thought. She had won some time, at least, but it would be useless unless she could lift the shadow hanging over Eònan before he sent his champions to finish the job that began at Tur Eumor. This is my current read this week , names of the dead , I had read book 1 and I thought it was pretty good , these are only short stories but a good length to get some reading done without these long lengthy books to tie you down . I shall write a review once I'm done . hopefully tomorrow .
Now , I must say I like this retelling of Medusa , mostly because it wasnt her that died at the end like most . the story was short enough to read in a few days .. But I read in in a week I loved the characters medusa and her sisters especially . it was easy to read , fast paced , I seemed to speed through every time I started read ing it . I loved the story , but felt very sorry for her towards the end . but will give it a 4/5 and look forward to reading more of her books . I actually read this pretty fast , it was fast paced , and that's another reason I kept going .. I like books that are easy to read with no complications in them , the book itself was ok , I give it 3.5 stars mostly because nothing really happens until the last half of the book .
But it was not slow or boring and basically I loved the characters and the story . I loved the idea of Nor being more powerful than her own mother , and she was definitely not like her mother at all . This read was not overwhelming , it wasn't slow ,. but that's ok . The characters I loved were / Nor , Gage , Reed , Judd and her grandmother were all played very well , or wrote very well . and many other characters too . 3.5 /5 But if your looking for a book easy to read , with magic and death in this is a good start . I loved the story of this book , Miuko , a normal inn keepers daughter , plain and simple way of living , until one day as she journeys back home , she gets cursed by a shoao and then shunned out of her fathers inn and their village because she's a demon , , she has to some how fight this curse and find a way to undo it , On her adventures she meets new friends and fights off demons , and monsters , spirits of all levels and even though she is slowly becoming one herself . I loved the characters in this book all of them even the baddies , But I did find that the last 70 pages maybe , kind of dragged out the ending . it was like the ending and then not the ending ... but overall a really good read . , and maybe a re read too .
hello again , book 3 from luna and her friends , always a pleasure to read these books , fantastical and wondrous adventures in space , saving the day . we fellow luna and all have crew , n.o.v.a , jax and squeaks and Maya too , throughout the journey through space , coming upon obstacles and face to face with fear itself .
they look out the window and peer outside , for a new adventure has just arrived . The illustrations are again adorable for this third book a hand full of cuteness and inspiring the fool . Cant wait to read more from this author someday . I loved all the characters as they get braver everyday. It explores anxiety fear , stress and friendship , adventure and sharing your feelings with loved ones forever around . 5* indeed Hello another journey into space to save the day from an evil war lord .
Luna and her crew help save the day , where there worries and fears get floated away ... lol I loved this book just like the first , it will be a memory worth a keeping I must say . Again with the spirally paper making up these wonderful illustrations make this a unique book to read . And a wondrous keepsake 5* again indeed . This was the most beautiful book cover and story I have read in a long time .
The illustrations are so cutely done out of spirally paper and just fantastic how they did that . I loved the story , quite poetic as you read it . its inspiring and about stress and adventures and remembering you have friends to talk too , when you need too . I was so happy reading this book . And I will re read it over and over again . this was definitely a 5 * read . and I would recommend it to anyone what ever the age . I read this book in 2 days , I found it very insightful especially being an Artist myself, the art is amazing and I loved it , the book is well worth buying and it helps with ideas , Tips with all art work done on digital form , but it still helps you even if you just draw your designs on paper first .
I would recommend this book to any one starting out with digital work . As you can see , the Art work is beautiful indeed . 5*/5* I loved this book , a continued read from last months read , the six crimson cranes .
A kind of dark fairy tale to say the least , its not short on excitement and adventure , magic , love , dragons , and demons . The two adverntures Princess Shiori has had now in both books and both times they pulled me in I could not put the book down , there is also romance but its not overwhelming at the least it does not take over the story , which is what I loved about the story , its actually very lovely , you follow the youngest child of the emperor on another adventure this time to return the wraths pearl but in doing so she has a plan taking a king of demons with her to trap him on the island with the wrath .. but when does any plan go according to plan ... her and her bothers and her betrothed all go along to help , let me just say I was thrilled and excited to get this book and at times was an emotional roller coaster .. but I was happy with the ending as it nearly made me cry . But I'm also happy with the world building and the characters ... my favourite were more or less all of them , I dont think I disliked any at all , well except the baddies of course . I loved the paper Birds too , and Megari and a few others but I wont tell you to many names as I will spoil it for you otherwise , definetely a must to read everyone ... you wont be disappointed . so check out this author and let me know how you got on , if you want to tag me in the reading of this book my instagram is @Mariasreadnreview This was supposed to of been up in May but forgot to do it as was so busy last week so here it is a week later than it should of been enjoy .
The magical and spellbinding fantasy fairytale retelling . By far one of the greatest books I've read in the last 2 years , I enjoyed this journey especially with Shiori'anma, one of 7 siblings in the kingdom of Kiata , she maybe the youngest but she has the most fun and the most adventures as her brothers are too serious for her now days ... but once she finds a dragon and her step mothers secret , she is cursed and her brothers too , and she has to find a way to break the curse , but doesn't realize that the curse on her is not curse but protection ,... protection from what I hear you say .... well that's where you will find out when you read this book , the six crimson cranes is also a journey of love / friendship and discovery . And she learns a lot not only about herself but the people in her kingdom and her betrothed who turns out to her surprise as a ok guy . Lovely , fast paced adventure . 5/5 |
